I am so honored to become part of the HTH community and I look forward to collaborating with the GSE programs to enhance program experiences and practices while making the most impact on future schools.

Marla joined the Center for Love and Justice in August 2021. She has worked in a variety of roles as an elementary school teacher for ten years in the San Diego region, working in profoundly different school settings, from Barrio Logan to Coronado,Lemon Grove, and El Cajon.  Marla is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, she holds her B.A. in Theater Arts from CSULB, and her Masters in Policy Studies in Cross Cultural Language and Critical Pedagogy from SDSU. She stepped away from the world of education for 7 years while living abroad in Germany and Indonesia and raising 2 beautiful humans! Marla is so honored to become part of the team and looks forward to collaborating with the GSE programs to enhance program experiences and practices while making the most impact on future schools. Besides traveling, she loves theater, running, biking, and enjoying delicious food with friends and family!
